Hi, I'm Dr. Russell M. Miller. I was born and raised in Washington, Utah. I graduated from Dixie High School and Dixie College and attended Southern Utah University for two years. I received a bachelors and Doctor of Optometry Degree from the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton, California in 1987. Following graduation, I returned to Dixie to practice Optometry and have been associated with Southern Utah Eyecare since 1989.

I've appreciated the growth and response from the residents of Southern Utah as our eyecare facility has grown to include three doctors and two locations, St. George and Hurricane.

I am a member of the Utah and American Optometric Associations as well as a long-standing member of Lions Clubs International. My practice interests include primary care optometry, contact lenses, low vision rehabilitation and laser vision correction. Our eyecare facility not only provides regular eye examinations and glasses, we also specialize in contact lenses, diagnose and treat eye disease, prescribe medication for the treatment of eye disease and manage near and farsightedness with laser vision correction.

I am a member of the LDS Church and served a mission in Hong Kong and Los Angeles. My wife, Christina, and I have four beautiful children and live in St. George. I enjoy all outdoor activities, especially hiking, fishing and hunting.

I attended Dixie High School, graduating with honors in 1977. I graduated from Dixie College in 1981 with an Associate in Science Degree. While there, I was a member of the honor society. I attended Southern Utah University for two years with a major in zoology and a minor in chemistry. I feel like the education I gained at Dixie College and Southern Utah University was first class. I have a great respect and appreciation for the educators at both of these fine schools.

I attended Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton, California from 1983 to 1987. I obtained a bachelors degree in visual science in 1985, graduating summa cum laude and finished my Doctor of Optometry degree in 1987. I fulfilled internships at a veterans hospital, an air force base, inner-city clinics and full-service optometric clinics. This education gave me well-rounded experience in many different eyecare scenerios. I feel that the education and experience I received has helped greatly in dealing with all kinds of different eyecare needs in private practice.

I worked in several eyecare practices in Southern California while I was attending school there. Following graduation, I worked at the offices of Jerry Keyes, O.D. in St. George, Utah for one year and then became a partner at Southern Utah Eyecare in 1989. This was previously the practice of Sheldon Johnson, O.D., who had practiced in St. George for over 30 years. Our practice has a long-time reputation in Southern Utah of providing the highest quality optometric care available .

I work hard to help patients understand their eyecare needs so that I can recommend the best options for their specific lifestyle. I also enjoy getting to know them as a person. Whatever your visual needs, I take pride in meeting and exceeding your expectations. Your family is important to me and I look forward to establishing a long-term professional relationship in caring for you and your family. As your eyes and eyecare needs change, I want to be there to continually give you the best service and help that your eyes deserve.
